So you must know by now that there's this whole Shit.......say that's caught the web by storm. I found this one on Tumblr and literally DIED from laughing. My favourite bit is the OMG! you look so chic today gurrrlllll!!! hahahah. I can totally imagine my friends and I saying everything in this vid, yes, we're just that cliched except minus the stereotypical accent and replace it with a British one. Also, I have major confessions to tell you! I did the whole "OMG should I get bangs? (fringe)" and then regretted it like CRAZY! I'm currently growing it out :/ Man it takes a looonnnnggg time for that to happen.

Jason Wu!!! That has literally been what I have been chanting and will be until his collab with Target comes out online. I'm IN LOVE with it and not the teenager kind that lasts for like 5 seconds, I mean the everlasting Titanic version!

The handbags are just...... *dies from heart attack just from thinking about it*

As we all know, the collection has been painfully slowly revealed to us by certain magazines and fashion news website. But today, we finally were given the privilege to be able to gaze our eyes upon the profound collection!! And the prices are super cheap compared to his originals!!! Score!! *does nerdy victory dance*

No joke, I'm screaming with glee. The date February 5th has been practically embedded into my diary from the amount of times I have penciled it in!

The collection is all about soft feminine pieces with a classical touch. It's practically orgasmic!!

Hello my lovely readers! How was your Christmases? Good? Lots of scrumptious food I bet.

Back to fashion now............

I was skimming Stylist.com and there was a post entitled : 'Rachel Zoe Gets Animated'. As a curious fashion abiding citizen, I couldn't not see what this article was on about. So off I clicked and what did I find??????

A whole treasure trove of fashionable goodies :) The post was talking about these .gif images that people had made of models in collections. They were so cool! Unfortunately, I can't upload them onto my blog but just clickie here and you'll be able to find them!

I'm feeling a bit of pink in my life!

The .gif above is one I made just now. It's not great but it's so much fun a lum a lums to watch! Just in case you're wondering, the image is from the latest pre-fall collection from Rachel Zoe! And so is the one below, although, it wasn't made by me!

Because We All Love a Bit of Pre-Fall 2012!

Oui Oui Madame et Monsieur! C'est le temps pour l'atomne pre de 2012!!!

Yes Yes Madam and Sirs, It's time for the PREFALL 2012!!

Oh this gets me giddy! In fact, I think I love all the mini capsule collections that don't require a fashion week like Resort too.

I recently skimmed over Yahoo! and found that our dear old Fashion God, Monsieur Lagerfeld had graced the news bulletins over the Chanel PreFall show that brought a glimpse of Mumbai/Bombay to the Grand Palais of Paris. I must say, those models did look rather regal with their jewels, especially since the show was staged in the Grand Palais which added to the magestic vibe. AND..... this collection even showed some colour! Surprised? I was, although I must admit, this isn't my favourite of the prefalls.

Two Jackets and Three Eyes? My oh my Monsieur Lagerfeld, you do like to push the boundaries!

Dreadlocks and colour! I didn't think anyone could have pulled it off but Monsieur Lagerfeld obviously has.
Bravo!

A collection I did fall in love with was Jason Wu, tbh, what type of girl doesn't fall to his feet when his collections are revealed? We all know the First Lady of USA isn't one. One thing I thought that made slightly humored was the fact that they kept the same background but just changed the colour of it to black from it's powdered blue. His collections are always just so effortlessly elegant and feminine. He even managed to make a parka look slightly womanly! Look (below)...........

"Hi, my name's Erjona and today I'm chanelling the Kristen Stewart I Can't Be F**cked look!"

Is it a coat? A cape? What is it Mr Wu? Answer the question......

However, I must admit the last couple of gowns really did not impress me. I get Mr Wu is trying to experiment with silhouettes and everything but frankly, it looked slightly awkward on the model. Not sure if it's just the fact that the model herself is pulling an awkward face or what? Judge for yourself though. But I must say I love all of the coats in any collection of his! The one above is just so luxe, especially with the designs on the shoulders.

To be awkward or not to be?

Lastly, someone please confirm that I'm not speaking gobbledygoop but isn't the Calvin Klein PreFall inspired by the 1940s?.............Or is it just me?

School Sucks!

There, I've said it. School sucks! It's a place which is determined to ruin your career. Well, at least it is for me.

Why? I got offered an internship with Vauxhall Fashion Scout for s/s 2012!!!! And my school REFUSED to give me permission to miss a week off to do something that will make my CV (the start of it) amazing! I mean, how many 17 year olds have been offered internships from VFS?? Actually don't answer that question, I don't want to feel down if a million others did (haha)

Then yesterday at 7:30am, I received an email from the notorious (okay, notorious isn't really the right word but......) BIP LING!!!! Ding ding ding ding! Yes, I repeat, Bip Ling; the ultra cool, ultra chic, ultra talented blogger! She asked (very sweetly) whether I was free to come and intern for her yesterday. But oh no! Guess what I was doing instead? 3 hours of life drawing, an hour of standing in the freezing cold watching House Netball and an hour of evil Mechanics (maths that is not car work).

So, in conclusion, SCHOOL IS GETTING IN THE WAY OF MY LIFE!!! *teary face*

Hands up who else has this problem?

Sandro Alejandro & Carven McMarven

Okay, let me tell you all this, I'm super sad and I basically stalk Net-A-Porter to look for new designers I might like. So far, I've discovered I really love Sandro & Carven. Both share a common heritage of being a French founded company and they translate their interpretation of Parisian chic (which I am one very big fan of) into beautiful garments.

Sandro is a company formed by Mr & Mrs Chétrite back in the 80s. Up until a few years ago, Sandro were every Parisian women's secret. (Okay, I made that up. But still, they should have been!) Now, they're a secret gone out! And thank god for that or else my dream of being a Parisian woman can be one more step of fulfilment! Here's a shnippet (no, not snippet but shhhhnnnnnnipppit) from their a/w 2011 or for those Yankees out there, f/w 2011!

Dear Santa, please deliver this whole outfit to my door on Christmas Day

by 1pm so I can wear it for Christmas lunch with the fam.

Carven on the other hand is much more historical compared to Sandro considering it was created in 1945 just after the epitomizing World War II. Mrs Carven was actually a woman named Mme (*does a fancy bow) Carmen de Tommaso , however now, Mrs Carven is a Mr Carven who goes by the name of Guillaume Henry (the ex Givenchy designer).

Alice & Olivia a/w 11 Campaign Video

I absolutely love watching campaign videos from designers, it's like watching short movies. Chanel obviously has the most notable ones and I'll probably put some in the side bar because I love them all so much!

But when it comes to chic and slightly more affordable (emphasis on the slightly) garments, Alice + Olivia are the go to. They make their clothing accessible to us commoners whilst maintaining the high value, red carpet look.
I recently watched their new campaign video which is super cute. You can clearly tell that there is an underlying theme of Parisennes slash Audrey Hepburn with the hair and makeup. It's all rather retro too which is bang on trend, well they do have to be on trend to appeal to their clientele. Watch it for yourself!

Obsessions in my life!

I recently came across this shoot that featured in Vogue a couple of years ago. It is set in Paris, my dream city, and is absolutely beautiful. The photographer is Arthur Elgort and he captures a certain Miss Karlie Kloss in the most elegant poses. I'm absolutely obsessed and captivated by this shoot, I wish I was this persona that Karlie Kloss evokes! Just the sheer magnificence of it all.

(The background music for the slideshow is Paris by Yael Naim. I thought it was rather fitting in this case!)

Another obsession of mine is the fashion illustrator Annabelle Verhoye. She's this brilliant artist from France who was educated in New York. She uses really simple outlines of the human figure on flowing coloured backgrounds. Her style's really rather retro yet elegant at the same time.

Lastly, this is more to do with my personal life rather than fashion but I've come to the point in my life where I have to start looking at universities! I was thinking of applying for an art foundation/ costume design/ fashion design in UK since I live in London and it's got one of the most reputable fashion schools (Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion etc) But, I've also been looking at studying abroad and I am absolutely in love with the idea of going to NYU , however, it would mean I won't get to study art and fashion but a more academic subject since I'd be applying for the College of Arts & Science. Although, it will mean I get to study in PARIS on my year abroad AND in NEW YORK CITY!! What do you guys think??

Versace for H&M

So, there's been a lot of buzz about the new Versace collaboration with H&M that's premiering in 300 stores worldwide on November 17th. I've posted some of the promotional shots for the collection below.

Okay, although I haven't included all the shots, I can tell you one thing: If it WEREN'T Versace, I would say this was the tackiest collection that H&M have ever done that I have ever seen. Except I can't say that because it IS Versace and Donatella is practically fashion royalty what with her heritage and everything. Perhaps it would have worked if it wasn't a collaboration with H&M since it's probably the materials which make the clothing look so 'cheap'.

However, the accessories do look a LOT more promising , I seem to be quite a fan of those cushions and silk scarves that are part of the collection but then again, which wannabe Parisian wouldn't like that! (haha) The bags are still slightly too much shabaam for me. I guess I'm rather biast against this collection since I'm not exactly the target demographic for Versace, I'm much more of a Lanvin for H&M girl.

Because Indie Is The New Mainstream!

Been off to a few "indie" gigs recently. By a few, I mean two (hahhaha): one at Rough Trade East and the other is Underage Festival.And even then Underage isn't really regarded as totally indie since other bands/artists such as Maverick Sabre and My Passion were playing. BUT I have realized one thing for sure! We indie kids dress AWESOMELY!!! So awesome that the Topshop Design team photographed my friends and I for inspiration!! Cool right!! But unfortunately, they didn't let us see the pic they took so I have no idea how awkward I was looking in the photo (I happen to be VERY awkward whenever a camera is whipped out in front of my face. Hence the lack of photos of myslef on this blog!)

But I can describe to you what Iwas wearing!! In fact, I can do one better, I'll compose a similar outfit on POLYVORE!!

Ballerina Inspiranina!

So yesterday, 17th June 2011, marked the end of my exams! YAY!! And as a little treat, the Head of English organized a trip to see CARLOS ACOSTA at the London O2 (formerly the Millenium Dome) dance Romeo + Juliet. It was beautiful! I mean, I have been contemplating returning to my ballet days for the past year and after seeing this production, I have decided I will return to ballet!

And do you know what I thought at the beginning of Act III in the production? Juliet's night gown looked an awful like the structure of the Chloe s/s 11 notable dress! So, ballerina inspiranina has struck the world! (ballerina inspiranina is what I call ballet inspiration)

No joke, Carlos (obviously, we're on first name basis now lol) glides through the air and jumps so high! Everyone should see him perform at least once before he retires! And I loved how they made Juliet act really innocent and child like just like she was in the original Shakespearean version. It annoys me how much the Baz Lurman's edition made Juliet so unchild like. She's supposed to be 13 for pete's sake!

Oh change of subject! The shorts from Asos arrived and looks NOTHING like how they did in the picture! So, I sent them back and vow never to buy from Asos ever again. Forget everything I said about it being great.

I'm off to Paris next week!! Can't wait!

I'm BACK!!!!!

Tehehehe I'm back girlies! (or guylies :P ) The amount of times I've said this on this blog is absolutely appauling :/ Shame on me isn't it? And I really shouldn't be writing on this blog until after my GCSEs but I couldn't resist!!!!

Oh and for all those people who were wondering what happened on my journey to LFW, I got a case of bad luck :( I fell over the day before and fractured my ankle!!! I couldn't walk let alone parade through Somerset House with a swollen foor :( But by the last day, at the very last second, I went in to get my badge! It served as a souvenir for the time I didn't go to fashion week. :'(

But do you know what I've discovered during my rather long hiatus?!?!...............Apart from the fact that I have rediculously bad luck.

1) Bip Ling!

Yeah, yeah. I know you guys all probably think she's old news and you guys knew about her ages ago. BUT SHE'S JUST SO COOL!!!! She's from London (shnapp girl!) and her blog is so different from the norm! It's really quirky, electric and most of all fun! I love the way she edits her photos to have coooky monsters and speech bubbles. It puts humour back into fashion! I mean before, when I read about her in TeenVogue, I simply dismissed it but once she was featured in the Net-A-Porter Magazine's Blogger issue (out only last week) I started to check her blog out. Don't get me wrong, I think TeenVogue is practically god but it's just that TeenVogue seems to always promote so many bloggers that I can't be bothered anymore. And a lot of those bloggers don't really share my style and asthetics so I overlook them.

Bringing me onto number 2............. something else I dismissed.

2)ASOS! I lalalala LOVE that site now. Before it used to be Zara online but I soon realized that although the clothes are beautiful, they just don't suit my type of body! Plus they don't have a tall range which sucks! Then my friend showed me all the dresses she had bought from Asos and I was swayed! Online shopping was never this great the last time I checked (which was ages ago!) and the great thing about Asos is the fact that they have a massive price range/ they don't sell as many tacky clothes as boohoo or other online shops. I've actually just ordered the cutest shorts ever for a really reasonable price, £10.50 (£14 something plus delivery)!

And I only discovered them this week!!! I'll post later on about the other awesome stuff that's out there. For now, I have to toodly doo off for some well needed revision!

P.s. Anyone else have this stupid problem of loads of spaces appearing between my paragraphs when importing a picture into their post?

My favourite time in the fashion calendar is HERE!!!! The COUTURE shows!!!!

Its when the creme de la creme of the fashion designers show their stuff!

I love the extravagance and the drama! My favourite is possibly the Dior show. What the hell, IT IS THE DIOR SHOW! John Galliano is a GENIUS!

This collection reminds me of the age of the Debutantes. It's such a shame that they're now extinct in England. They would have made life much more glamorous than it is now. Mind you, it was also a damn good reason to buy a new frock too. *sigh*

If only I had a time machine like the Tardis (yes, I am a Doctor Who fan) that could transport me back to the days when Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly were at their prime. For the mean time, I guess my boxsets of their films will satisfy me for now.

Ages ago, I blogged about Erdem winning a BFC Award....

Months later, you see all the big A-listers wearing his label on the red carpet. His textile prints are truly unique and extremely elegant. The maxi-dresses seem to be the biggest hit on the red carpet........... And I can see why!

AHHHH!!! It's not even December yet and it's SNOWING already!! AND IN UK!!! This never happens, so I'm super hyped :D I recently bought a CAPE and it's sooo lush and warm. It was from Topshop. The design is great! but the only thing is, is that the materials are not exactly that good. The faux leather looks a bit too plasticy, like the plastic shine some things have that makes them look tacky. But everything else looks superb, especially the faux fur at the collar :)

Ever since Mulberry dedicated their new bag to Alexa Chung, it's been a hit. And, in my opinion, its the leader of the satchels trend in the fashion world today. There's nothing quite like its weaved handle and its signature preppy style. It's THE BAG of this century! And, my oh my, have there been A LOT of cheap replicates that try to but unsuccessfully capture the Alexa bag's essence. While scouring Lookbook and Chictopia (mainly LookBook), I found MANY fashionistas carrying an Alexa in their photos. Some choose to mix it with florals while others with plaid. No matter what its worn with, it will MAKE your outfit WORK!! No doubt! I also LOVE the different colours,textures and patterns the Alexa comes in. There's one for every one of your moods and days. For me, my two favourite Alexas are the Dark Purple Loopy Leopard Suede one and the classic Alexa in Oak Soft Buffalo.

OMG! I died when I saw this!!! BUT LANVIN IS COLLABORATING WITH H&M!!!! He is joining the ranks of designers to collab with H&M! Remember Jimmy Choo? And Karl Lagerfield? Just to name a few :D

The collection is launching on Nov. 23nd in 200 store worldwide. So expect long queues outside the H&M on Oxford Street.

No doubt will I be there. Lanvin's beautifully cut dresses and tailoring at more than half their price is A BARGAIN!!! And you will definately find some investment pieces!

Pretty Little Liars!

I'm BACK!!! Miss me? Sorry I haven't been blogging recently. So, I promise to be blogging more frecuently.

So, I just started watching Pretty Little Liars. For those who don't watch it, here's a quick summary. It's about these 4 girls who lost their clique leader the summer before. They each become involved in their own weird little scenarios and are becoming blackmailed by a mysterious stalker named 'A'. Subsequently, the same letter that the dead friends name started with. And, not only is this show AMAZINGLY GRIPPING, but the characters wear gorgeous clothes.

My favourite character's style is Spencer's or Hanna's. I think out of all the girls, I would want to raid their closet. I love Spencer's style as it's very polished and smart with blazers. I like Hanna's because her style is very girly and also polished but in a different way.

When You're Off on Holiday!!!!!!

Okay, so next week, guess where I'll be!!!!!!! HONG KONG!!!!!

I can't wait. For those who don't know, my family are from Hong Kong and I CAN'T WAIT to see everyone again!!! Sadly, this means that I wont blog for about 3 weeks. BUT! I PROMISE I will take LOADS of pics and hopefully get a new laptop too with a camera in, which means MORE pics of my style and maybe even vlogs! But that's only IF I get a new laptop.

So, just before I leave for Hong Kong, I'm going to dedicate this set to HOLIDAY WEAR!!!! Not sure if you've all realized, but summer gets SO HOT nowadays due to global warming :( So, I find it REALLY hard to wear certain things due to the horrendous heat and I tan so easily (which is bad as I'll end up like DARK DARK brown!). This means I have to somehow not tan while wearing strappy tops. I love those really cute camis but I'm REALLY flatchested so it's kinda hard for me to wear them. Instead I opt for tops with short sleeves. To stop myself from tanning as much, I slobber myself in Nivea SPF 50!!! I also love the cute little sunglasses and fedoras. Fedoras are basically the chic version of those silly little caps tourists wear.

So, to all who live in England, you must be familiar with GCSEs. They're these horrible exams students have to take at the end of year 11/10th Grade. I am taking Art & Design for GCSE as my school does not offer any other type of art or textile course.

You're probably thinking why is she going on about her GCSEs, this has no relevance to Ethnic Fashion. BUT OH! It has, as I have just recieved my coursework exam project for my art course and its theme is Ethnic Focal Points. As you must have all figured out by now, I LOVE FASHION! And wasn't the latest trend on the runway for S/S '10 Tribal? It sure was!

So, I was thinking of producing as my final some sort of clothing inspired by the runway or at least include it in my course work. But, it's not only Africa I'm looking at, it's China and Japan as well. So this can include THE CHANEL PREFALL '10!!!!

Osman Yousefzada for V&A!

One word to describe it. SPECTACULAR! His designs are SO FUTURISTIC!

It started off with two dancers, one male and one female, both obviously dressed in Osman. There was tribal music in the background and they danced their way up and down the runway. Then, after they did their little bit, 4 models came on at the same time and walked down the runway. They were all wearing navy suede low wedged penny loafers with white tights and navy dresses (I think they were made out of jersey). The hair styles on the models were gorgeous, it was the beach wave but at the front, it was all slicked back. There were these really stunning pair of shoes where it was a wedged shoe navy that covered the whole foot and it had jewels on the sides of them!

I'm not sure, but I think one of the models was Jourdan Dunn. What do you think? A pic of her is below and if it is OMG!!! I SAW JOURDAN DUNN!!!!

AHHHHH!!! I haven't blogged for WEEKS!!! SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED!!!

Okay, first things first, my dad has been droning all weekend to make me have a hair cut. But we're kinda running low on money as my mum lost her job :( So, my local hairdressers, HOB salons, has a poster outside that they need hair models for their trainees. I am SO tempted to go and say I WANT TO!!! It does mean a wicked FREE haircut right??

Two, I have DEACTIVATED my facebook for exams. Has anyone else done that??

Three, yes as I have mentioned, I do have exams. I shall be dormant until the end of May. BUT I WILL BE BACK!

Four, I must tell you bout my London trip. So funny, it was like a comedy sketch!! So, I contacted Jenny Dyson, Editor-in-Chief of Rubbish Mag, to arrange an interview. Everything was sorted, then me and my friend got to her office and couldn't get in. So there we were, two teens going up and down the lift to try to get to level 4. BUT! They somehow managed to lock the lift on that floor so it only went to level 3! So, we then phoned her and it turns out her phone has broke and she completely forgot. Winner Of the British Fashion Council/ Vogue Designer Fashion Fund!

It has been announced just today, that ERDEM has won the British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund. YAY!!! He was selected based on his "strong design signature" and his "clear vision for developement". He definately deserved to win, he was up against pretty strong competitors though, including Christopher Kane, Richard Nicoll AND Marios Schwab!

The BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund were judged by people from all over the industry and others. Notable judges include Alexandra Shulman (Editor of Vogue UK) and Belinda Earl (CE of Jaeger) and Joan Burstein (Founder of Browns).

I've just started school again since my Christmas holiday :(

I discovered a few summers ago that Jason Wu designed dolls as well as clothing. The dolls were part of a collection called Fashion Royalty. It even has a storyline and Jason Wu designed everything from makeup to the clothes (obviously).

The Story:

The story of Fashion Royalty is set in the highly competitive and cutting-edge world of high-end cosmetics and marketing.

Our story revolves around two cosmetic firms rather viciously competing against one another and, more recently, a third corporation whose owner takes pleasure in stirring the pot a little…more accurately, a lot. What began as a simple struggle to take over European market shares of the cosmetics industry soon became a race for complete domination in the world of fashion as well.

Amongst the many, here are my favourites from the current collection:

Kyori Sato

I think I like her as I always do this thing, where I imagine myself as one of the characters from anything. And with Fashion Royalty, I imagine myself as Kyori. Mainly because we are both oriental.

She reminds me of Elle Macpherson's character in The Beautiful Life, with the make up and the pose.

For all those like me who are unprivileged enough to own any Jack Wills garments or haven't heard of them. They are an extremely British brand. They are, as TeenVogue put it, the British version of Abercrombie and Fitch. My friend showed me the recent catalogue for Jack Wills aka the Jack Wills Handbook and I fell in love with this bag.

It is tres expensive at £98. So, I'm going to head down to Primark this christmas and find a bag like that and then add belts to the bottom. Wish me luck for finding and making a clone of this bag!!

I read the following article in Style Magazine from the Sunday Times. It's a prediction of Suri Cruises life. It is written by Shane Watson. And it is absolutely hilarious!!! However, I do have a bone to pick with Suri Cruise's parents, Tom & Katie. As much as I admire their talent for acting and kitten heels, I just don't think it's suitable for a 3 year old to be in kitten heels. Doesn't it hurt?

BUT when it comes to musicals and CCF, we see the boys at MTs!!!!! So, I have been wrapped up all the time with Oliver, I've even been dreaming about!!!It's quite worrying!! I am sad to say the Korean model Daul Kim,22, died x( The Grim Reaper arrived at her door a few days ago. She was found in her luxurious flat in Paris dead. It is thought that she comitted suicide. In her blog, I like to Fork Myself, she has mentioned how lonely and tired of her life she is. Her Myspace is YesIdogetlonely!!!! Her last blog post was titled Say Hi To Forever, hinting that she was going to leave our natural realm. Her family were expected to arrive in paris yesterday night. This isn't the only recent Model suicide. There was also Lucy Gordon, who was 28. They both had apartments in the same area, Right Bank. All I can say is, modelling might not be as glamourous as we all think. It has it's pros and cons. So.............to end this sad post, I would like to say Daul Kim REST IN PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!May you fell happier where ever you are!!!!!!

So, I've always wanted to go to London Fashion Week NOT London Fashion Weekend. And then I read in The TeenVogue Handbook that Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough used to sneak into fashion shows!!! So, I went and googled it! And here is what I found:

1: Impersonate an editor....

SO, here is THE POST!!!! finally!!!! ok so lets start at the beginning!

When we got there we walked past Zara and saw these models in the windows!! They all had the same kinda theme going throughout!! So, we went in to find another load of models sitting on this display thing. Then these waiters came out with cute macaroons and orange juice on trays!!!

We went into Emporio Armani after and came just in time for the fashion show!!! ( the pics are a bit blurry!)

We went on into Burberry where I tried on this AMAZING cardigan which cost £1265!!!!(I'm wearing my CCF boots and my best friend's dress!)

We went into Chanel, where we cued to go upstairs. On the staircase, Erin O'connor was sitting there getting her makeup done and Daisy Lowe was at a photo shoot!!! We weren't allowed to take pics x(

Love for V&A museum!!

The V&A have a special program going on which is for young people aged 14 to 19 to take part in courses. Last Saturday, I went with my friend (Abi) to the Sackler Center (a part of the museum for learning) to go to fashion day. We heard four lectures/talks from very successful people in the Fashion Industry, including ex-European Editor and the current editor of Rubbish Magazine, Jenny Dyson and Todd Lynn!!!! As well as Alistair Guy and a producer from INCA productions. The first talk was from Jenny Dyson and her daughter Dot. She gave us tips to get into the business. For example, write your cover letter by hand so it will stand out and also submit ideas along in your cover letter. Many magazines are looking for writers with good ideas, but you must remember that you might not get to write the letter though!! Then Todd Lynn gave us a tip that if we ever phone a company regarding internships, you MUST be polite and nice. This is because once Todd Lynn, himself picked up the phone and the person was very rude and impatient!!

So in my older posts I mentioned that I went to fashion's Night Out!!! And when we walked past Kenzo there were 3 models seated on a couch. One of them, who was really nice and talked to us was Yasminka Muratovich!!!!! She's only 18 years old from Russia!! I also met 2 other models but I can't really remember what they looked like. Yasminka was the one who stood out!!

This is sent from School!!! How cool??!!! Anyways, so far, my favourite collection shown in London Fashion Week is Sass &Bide!!! They only used two colours : White & Black. They've given the classic looks a little edge. Like this tailored jacket. It is given an edge by the frills in the skirt and the necklace. But the shoes remind me of the Louis Vuitton Autumn/Winter 09 shoes minus the ribbon.

This is due to all my rehearsals for Oliver (school musical), CCF (Combined Cadet forces) and it's my first year of GCSEs so it's all very important. This year (school wise), we started so much earlier than other schools! That was already depressing but then everyone came in as clones!!! They all had the same bag from Hollister carrying their extras and a Jane Norman bag!!! Imagine that around 500 girls coming in with the same bag!!! I was one of the few who didn't carry one and opted for a rucksack. They're used less and better for your back.

I love their Limited Edition Cleansing Oils! They've had great feedback and the design of the bottles are soo cute! It was designed by Moyoco Anno who is a manga artist. When I first read about these, I thought that they would just make your skin even worse but they DON'T!!!! I went and asked for a sample and the first thing I did when I got home, was try it out. It was AMAZING, the smell wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. It made my skin feel really good. You should definitely try this out!!!

They're pretty pricey though, they're either $75 or $65 depending on which one you buy.

I went out to Central London today. I wanted to go to Bond Street (Old & New). So, when I got into D&G (due to my friend only allowing me to go into 1 shop, I chose D&G) we saw the most adorable kiddies clothing by D&G. Then the manager (who I think is the manager) gave us a REALLY dirty look, because she knew that we weren't going to buy anything. When we got upstair, the people were really nice. But honestly, I was SO surprised that these people had the nerve to give us a dirty look. I mean, yes we aren't going to buy anything. But wouldn't you at least give the person some respect for at least entering your shop. So, what is your view on this matter?

A few months ago, I befriended Dara Adeeyo aka Secretista. She currently spends her time interning at TEEN VOGUE and studying Journalism at uni. So, I thought it would be a brilliant idea to interview her.

ALFV: What got you into fashion?
DA: I was 10 when I knew I wanted to go into fashion. I was obsessed with clothes. I loved shopping and loved picking out my clothes for the next school day. Of course every girl loves clothes, but for me it was something different. It was like art to me. My mom wouldn't buy me more than I wanted, so to expand my wardrobe, I'd head to my older brother's closet every morning and scope out which of his clothing pieces I could wear. I loved it! I would always get in trouble though. My mom said, "Girls don't wear boy's clothes!" But I didn't care! I knew that I was making it more feminine and chic.

ALFV: Who are your fashion heroes?
DA: I have many fashion heroes. Of course the infamous Audrey Hepburn. She is the epitome of how to be a classy lady and look chic; classically chic. I will forever emulate her style in my wardrobe. My second fashion heroe is Diane Keaton. She takes risks. She made menswear on women famous to the world through the Woody Allen movie "Annie Hall." I love menswear, so I love her. Lastly, Gwen Stefani is my ultimate fashion heroe. Her style is so unqiue and chic that she is a true fashion heroe.

ALFV: What made you serious about working in the fashion industry?
DA: Gwen Stefani is the reason I truly knew that I wanted to pursue fashion as a career. When she came out with her first solo album, she introduced the world to Japanese Street Fashion. I started looking up Japanese Street Fashion photos online and became obsessed. I finally found my fashion voice. I knew that I wasn't crazy for wanting to experiment with my clothes and I began to concoct crazy looking outfits because others were doing it as well. Granted Japan was around the world, but people out there were just like me.

ALFV:What inspires your style?
DA: Everything inspires my style. But I would say the weather, my mood and my upbringing. When you have somewhat strict Nigerian parents, you get very used to have a clean-cut look. Yes I love experimenting with my clothes, but my upbringing has made me appreicate the classic looks.

ALFV: What is your most treasured item?
DA: My most treasured item is probably the Dooney & Bourke watch my parents bought for me when I was a Sophomore in high school. That was the year I decided to take fashion serious. And also, I am obsessed with watches and never ever leave the house without wearing one. I say forget checking your cell phone for the time and put on a cute time-piece!

For a Harper's Bazaar interview, Karl Lagerfeld impersonated Coco Chanel. It was for the upcoming film Coco Avant Chanel, premiering on Sept.25 in USA. The magazine wanted Coco Chanel's personal views on the world as it is today. We've managed to get the WHOLE interview from the September issue of Harper's Bazaar.

Harper's Bazaar: What's the chicest age to be?
Coco Chanel: It took me 100 years to come back. I'm 40 again!
HB: What are your thoughts on how women dress today?
CC: They say old elegance is apparently dead, so I have to invent a new one.
HB: Your clothing liberated women in the 1920s. Are you still a feminist?
CC: I was never a feminist because I was never ugly enough for that.
HB: What would you change about your looks? Would you consider Botox?
CC: When I look at myself in the mirror, I think I'm pretty modern — whatever that means. But maybe I should change my makeup. In my day, the products were dreadful.
HB: Whom do you most admire in Hollywood?
CC: If in life I had been like the women I see in the movies, I would never have made it.
HB: What inspires you — architecture, an actress...?
CC: An actress. Why not? I was inspired by actresses in the past. However, my biggest inspiration is myself.
HB: Which artists would you surround yourself with?
CC: Jeff Koons to start with.
HB: What's on your iPod?
CC: The Kills. They suit my character.
HB: Do you watch TV?
CC: TV seems as vulgar as a music hall in my mouth.
HB: You were famous for your paramours. Whom would you have an affair with today?
CC: I like handsome men, so there would be many possibilities, but dukes and princes are not the right escort for a woman like me today. I like to charm younger men. This has not changed.
HB: Where do you holiday?
CC: If not my apartment, La Pausa. I have to look for a place in the South of France.
HB: Do you still smoke and tan?
CC: I am afraid yes, because the attitude of smoking looked great on me, as did a tan.
HB: What are you wearing now, classics or trendier fare like neon and animal prints?
CC: My own designs. If neons and animal prints are in my collection, I'll wear them.
HB: What's the new Chanel classic?
CC: As apparently my old jacket is still around, done by this idiot Karl, I have to help him find a new idea.
HB: Would you do any high-street collaborations? With whom?
CC: Adidas or Moncler. I love sport! Or Diesel for jeans. Jeans are chic now and not horrible like in my day.
HB: Who is your fashion nemesis, your modern-day Schiaparelli?
CC: I suppose nearly everybody in the business.

Former collaborator with Alexander Wang and model, Erin Wasson is due to present her first ever runway show! She is expecting nearly twice the amount Alexander Wang is! It is held at Bryan Park's largest tent on Sept. 12, open to over a thousand guests. The show is set to have a special musical guest to play. Wasson said that she felt "honored" and "humbled" on the venue.

When asked why she chose this venue, she answered“It’s really a thrill, to be able to take a venue everyone in the fashion industry knows so well, and bring in new personalities and a new vibe that spin the experience in a different direction. I mean, it’s almost too predictable to do something ‘cool’ in, like, an abandoned warehouse. Cool can happen anywhere. It’s a state of mind. That’s the essence of the Erin Wasson x RVCA brand, and there’s no reason not to follow that logic onto the runway.”
